Hi Gentlemen,
I recently bought a xfx r9 290x and a corsair cx600m PSU. Ever since I added these two, my system will randomly restart, no crash no nothing. Just restarts.
At first I thought It could be due to the PSU not being able to handle the new gcard but after researching it further, i found that it should easily be able to. My psu is only running my mobo, gpu, cpu and harddrive. I do not have any case fans or anything extra.
Reverting back to my old gcard (hd6870) and it works fine.
I have removed old drivers properly by following guides.
Specs:
Windows 7 (64)
Corsair cx600m
xfx r9 290x
AMD FX-4170 Quad-Core Processor, 4200 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processors
5gig ram
Extra info:
It is not over heating, it is running at 31c
I have tried beta drives, didn't work
r9 290x has know BSOD issues, 1 I don't get a blue screen 2) I followed instructions on how to fix it anyho.
I have one cable coming from my PSU into my gcard, although this one cable has a 8 pin and 6 pin together, maybe I need 2 cables coming from my PSU?
