Hi everyone,
thanks in advance for any advice,
this is more an electrical issue rather than a computer issue, but hopefully someone can help??
I brought my HP desktop with me from the UK to Japan.
Its a HP Pavillion t3777 uk model.
UK uses 240 volt AC ~ Japan uses 100 volt AC
The label on the back of the CPU box says:
A/C input 50/60 hz
100-127V ~ 6.0 A
200-240V ~ 3.0 A
Which makes me think it should work OK
but next to the power cable socket there is another label that has a warning triangle and says :
230V HI-POT OK
All I know is that when I plug it into the mains in Japan nothing happens.
I think there are 2 options - get a step up transformer or change the power unit inside the cabinet.
I was wondering if there is some sneaky switch anywhere that flips it into Japanese power mode ??
Many thanks,
Rumi
