I read this before that some storage devices after 10 years or so start to lose data. This news article is saying Scientists are losing data at a rapid rate!! So my quection is what is the best storage devices for long storing of data? And what storage devices to stay away from.

Most of the horror stories is people using floppy ,tape drive and zip drive ( but these days people don't use this so I gusess this is what they had on it before !! But I hear CD and DVD lose data after 10 years or so.

Hard drives are good but most hard-drives stop working after 6 to 8 years .

USB thumb drives lose data after 5 years.

So what is the best storage devices for long storing of data? And what storage devices to stay away from.
