QHD or Full HD Screen Laptop?

I'm thinking of buying an ultrabook, but the question of scaling of images and text to make them readable is putting me off buying one with a QHD (i.e. > 2560x1440 px) screen at the moment. Could someone advise me on this? I presently have a 13.3" Windows 8.1 laptop with a 1366x768 px screen on which adjusting image size is easy with webpages and MS Excel, Word etc simply by altering the zoom factor. Image quality doesn't seem to be affected when you do this. However, in applications such as video editing and graphics packages etc., you cannot zoom and can only change the screen resolution of the laptop. (Decreasing the resolution - or changing from the natural screen resolution - doesn't alter the image size with these packages but simply makes the text less sharp.) Does the same thing apply with a QHD screen? What I'm concerned about is buying an ultrabook with a QHD screen on which the images are so small that I can't see or read them. Can you get around this problem i.e. to make the text/images larger? Is it worth me getting a QHD screen if I don't intend to upgrade my software? I have the option of getting a QHD or a Full HD (1920x1080 px) ultrabook. Which should I choose? Advice appreciated.
