AT/IDE drive

Hi, just installed a new DP43BF Intel mb. It has a parallel ATA connector instead of IDE. Is it the same? IF not, I am trying to use a IDE CD/DVD RW drive on this board. I don't see any other connectors that will accommodate that drive. Do I need to buy a SATA drive?
