New Asus laptop has severe keyboard delay

Just got a new Asus X511C for my little brother and right out of the package it had a severe keyboard delay. At first, we just noticed it with minecraft, as it would take about 5-6 full seconds for his character to make any sort of response to his keystrokes. Then we noticed it with everything else.
