hi , i am having problems with downloading / printing from my brother HL-2140 laser printer and my brother MFC425CN multi function centre.
i had both of these machines connected to my XP home toshiba satellite laptop and my win7 x 64 bit acer aspire laptop working fine until about 2 months ago, then both disappeared.
i have 2 disks for the HL-2140 ( have 2 of these machines ) tried both , nothing shows on the screens from either computer, i have also tried downloading from the genuine brother.com.au web site.
i have noticed 2 different things happening now in these downloads to what happened previously,
1. there is now a box for decompressing these files
2. when the INSTAL is nearly complete i get a message " invalid arguments" , surely this has something to do with the
problem ?
i have run the test page ok from the HL-2140, and tried different cables,the downloads appear in my programs and my docs, nothing appears in device manager.
i notice that there are " print spooler problems " programs available on the net, has anyone had any experience with any of these ?
both laptops run a paid for version version of zone alarm as my AV and a free version of key scrambler, both have been temp disabled at the times of the attaempted downloads, but to no avail.
