Hello everyone, long story short:
I helped my friend update his Bios, so I decided to check mine. I had version 901 or something and asus is up to 1604 so I decided to update. Update went fine, and I started up. I noticed that the CPU was running hot, about 15-20c above normal, and I figured the bios settings must be different. I decided to reset the cmos and go in and change them from the defaults. Well the Sabertooth 900fx doesn't have a cmos jumper (It has a CLR-RTC jumper, it may do the same thing, I'm not sure, don't have the manual), so I just pulled all the cables and pulled the battery. Put it back in... and got one post beep, accompanied by the board's "Boot device LED" light being on. Just the one beep, and no video signal (so I can't see if the bios is there or not).
I ran a tester on all the power cables, power is fine. Any ideas? Thanks.
update: Swapped out to my old video card, and same results, so that doesn't seem to be a problem. (thank god)
I'm thinking hard drive at this point, but I don't have another to test. The board only has SATA ports, and the only other drives I have in my pile are IDE. The boards SATA ports also point out to the side (which I hate) and interfere with my HD cage, so I have to pull the mobo to unplug the cable. I don't see how what I did could've had any effect anyway.
