Headset Problem

I bought Skullcandy Slayer, microphone and headphones.

My problem is that the headphones are ALWAYS listening to the microphone.

I've made sure the microphone wasn't being listened to in the windows settings:



I've uninstalled the drivers, reinstalled, made sure they're up to date. The manual that came with the headset said that to disable the microphone you press the button on the cable so that the light is red, I've done this, and I can still hear the microphone through the headset.

They connect via USB.


This is really, REALLY, REALLY annoying.

Someone please help.
