Above is my current configuration.

Ignore Drive H this is an external USB drive

The system boots from IDE channel 0 and the CD/DVD drive is a slave.

The two Sata drives are on IDE Channel 2 as Master and Slave.

I Have an ISO copy of Windows on Sata drive Z . This is where I streamed the sata drivers using nLite.

This is what I want to achieve

Copy the OS to Sata drive Y. remove The IDE drive. Install the CD/DVD drive as Master on IDE channel 0 and boot from The Sata Drive.

Is this the right way to Go?

If I do this there are several programmes I wont be able to reinstall so can I do this

Create a backup image file of the boot drive using windows backup or Nero Backitup and then restore the backup to Sata drive Y
