This is a difficult problem for me to put into words, but I am just getting progressively more annoyed as time goes on, so I'll be quick.
Basically, my audio has a tendency to stop working (as in red x over sound icon) at complete random, and despite fixing the supposed "problem" of "audio is too low", it still does this and with seemingly increasing frequency. I have noticed some minor details that happen when this occurs:
1) While inconsistent, it tends to happen right after I open some applications, although this is somewhat random.
2) When it does happen, and I check up the playback devices via right clicking the sound icon, they are completely gone even if the devices are completely plugged in. It's only after I normally click on the icon do they come back after a short period.
3) I check the "Services" and the Windows Audio is off despite the fact that it is automatic. Restarting it only keeps it on for as long as possible until the next random shutoff.
4) It also tends to automatically occur the very moment I log into my account on my computer, so I always end up having to turn it back on.
I am at my wits end here, and I am hoping this place can provide some answers. My computer is a Windows 7 Dell, and I'll try to provide more information if I can.
I AM NOT TECH SAVVY.
