OK, firstly I am a complete moron in doing what I dun!
My old PC's motherboard a sudden death (confirmed by Techy) but I did retrieve all the hard drives that were all in working condition.
My new HP PC is the new type without the deck e.g. everything is contained in the monitor's guts with only one CD drive. Obviously the days of IDE and Hard Drives as I knew them are over so how can I retrieve the contents of my old drives.
Whilst typing I suddenly realized that my wife has one of the "old fashioned" PCs so maybe if I just hook each of them up in turn, I will be able to pull the data (photos mainly), transfer them to a high capacity flash USB drive or external HDD and then copy to my new PC?
Any better ideas folks?
