New Hard drive trouble installing OS

My dad replaced the hard drive in my HP pavilion dv9500 as the old one was bad.
The former hard drive was a Seagate AT 120GB with Vista OS
The new hard drive is a Seagate SATA 320GB
We ordered a new installation disc for Windows 8
I changed the boot order in BIOS to read CD/DVD it takes several times turning the pc off then on (and typing the "dvd" button on the keyboard) for it to read and begin the installation process from the CD but once it does .....

Everything begins to install okay however, during installation a Windows Load driver pop up appears

"A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.
Note: If the installation media for Windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step."

I've been reading a lot of different bits of advise for this problem, everything from updating the BIOS to "there is no solution"
I'm no tech ninja but I know it can be done, the hard drive went out on this same computer 4 or 5 yrs ago... an acquaintance fixed it and reloaded windows, but lost some of the screws to the harddrive, one of which was found rambling around inside when I opened it this time.
anyway back to the topic at hand.....
Im guessing there are some drivers or reconfigurations that must be attended to before installing the new operating system! If anyone could help point me in the right direction..... I have a flashdrive to download whatever I need... Thanks in advance!!!
