Recently I got my laptop -- Toshiba Satellite P775D with Windows 7 -- back from the repair shop with a new hard drive. The original hard drive failed after only 15 months; luckily, I had bought the extended warranty.
While the new hard drive is functioning as it should, I now have a new problem which I noticed immediately: a jumping cursor which makes typing absolutely impossible. It jumps all over the place: back-and-forth, up-and-down. I've researched the Net expecting to find a simple remedy, but there doesn't seem to be one. I really figured a minor adjustment or setting change would be all that was needed. One suggested possible fix I tried was going into the Control Panel and unchecking the "Hide pointer while typing" box. At first that seemed to have done the trick; unfortunately, the problem very soon started up again and is now worse than ever. Next, I disabled my wireless Logitech mouse, but that didn't help either. Perhaps I should contact the repair center about this problem, especially since something the technician did may have caused it. I'm still thinking it has to be something easily fixable. In the meantime, I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone here who may be able to help. Thank you.
