I've gotten help from this forum in the past and it looks like I may need some expert help again. A friend gave me his Lexmark x4650 wireless printer he was previously using with his laptop. I've installed it via the installation disc that came with the printer and all seemed to have gone well. It has connected via wifi and is able to make copies. The alignment page that prints after putting in the ink cartridges (genuine Lexmark ones ordered from Amazon) prints fine but I can't get anything else to print.
There is a progress indicator that appears when I print that stops at 99% when trying to print a Word doc and 25% or 15% when trying to print from the internet but the printer remains idle. I've tried re-installing the printer to no avail. I've also tried stopping and restarting the printer spool via the control panel to no avail. I've also tried printing with the usb cable attached instead of over wifi which was unsuccessful. I cannot even print a test page using the built in "print a test page" utility successfully. Additionally, the ink levels show up as question marks in the printing progress indicator (I've attached a screen shot). So I'm at a loss for what to do next. I've run out of ideas. It seems that it's just not connecting to my computer properly somewhere along the lines but I don't know where. Any help would be appreciated.
