I just recently upgraded my cpu from a Phenom ii x4 975 to the Fx 8350 Vishera
i was planing on overclocking it a bit...but my temps are somewhat high
i ran prime95 test after i installed the cpu to make sure it wasn't defective ..and within 4 min of stress testing my temps went up to 68c and my idle times are around 43c-45c, which is pretty high. or am i wrong?
im not sure what the problem is,,im not using the stock cpu cooler, im using a cpu watercooler (Antec Kuhler h2o 920)
iv tried re-applying thermal paste using the "dot" method (i guess that's what its called) and temps remained the same
the thermal paste im using is "cooler master High Performance"
specks :
Asus M5A97 Evo
Asus HD7950
8Gb Patriot G2 Series Ram
FX8350 4ghz
----update----
after a while temps picks up a bit
also my volts keep going up and down
they change every few seconds
according to HW monitor temps keep going up and down between 3.44v and 3.68v
really wanted to OC this...im sure somethings wrong...
any troubleshooting steps?
