3D for computer

For anyone whose read my posts, I've talked about building for myself a HMC computer. Well, I did it. Aside from doing tweaks to improve it's capabilities, I was thinking about how I could make it 3D capable. Obviously, any games would have to have the option of 3D built into the game (feel free to post any games like that, just be sure to add what kind of 3D they use). But, aside from that, I was thinking about what technology I could use. Anaglyph is the first one that comes to mind. Several media players have been built with the option of anaglyph playback. Going up a level, I thought about interlaced 3D as a cheap, better alternative. But, that would required a polarization system of some sort. Then, I thought about an active shutter system. That, basically, works by alternating the left and right images on the screen at a rate fast enough to be near impossible for your eyes to detect. For TVs with the shutter feature built in, you just have to sync the glasses up with the TV every time you watch something. Well, if a TV can be built with a shutter system built in, why not have an adapter to do the same thing with a PC? I see it as being either a PCI card with a built-in transmitter or a USB adapter that can be synced with a pair of shutter lenses. Plus, most monitors are now capable of working at 60Hz.
