Had this HDD for two days with no problems, went to use it last night and it made 5/6 high pitched beeping tones before falling silent. The LED on the front flashes constantly, when the drive worked it was steady.
Ran Seatools and it does not appear.
I don't believe the drive is spinning, at least not at proper RPM.
I've tried four different recovery programmes and it does not show up in any.
It's two days old and holds all of my data, as I was using it to store my files while I formatted my laptop and reinstalled Windows 8, which I have not yet been able to do thanks to this drive.
From research I've done it seems that 'stuck' actuators are not uncommon with SG drives lately, which could be the culprit...could anyone please advise me on how to proceed? :(
