Solved: Processor and Motherboard without a graphics card?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to this site, and this is my first build, I have everything put together and when I plugged in the PSU, I was super excited to hit the switch and boot my computer, however when I did, I got a blank screen. Looking inside of my case I saw that all fans were on, including the CPU fan, and every light was lit up.My brother has been loosely guiding me through this process, although him being in Texas and I being in Michigan, that hasn't been too easy, so I called gigabyte's tech support because that's the type of motherboard I have, the man told me that the motherboard and CPU I have don't come with an onboard graphics card and that I need to buy one to output video at all. I was already planning on doing so, but my budget is low right now and I want to wait to buy a good one, not some 60$ one that won't even play Civ 5 (one of my favorites), and then have to upgrade later.
Please let me know, is this true? I thought motherboards came with a stock graphics card on them, although I'm probably wrong, rookie at all of this, remember?
I have a Gigabyte F2A85X-D3H motherboard, and AMD X4 750K processor
Thanks!
