CPU running too hot?

First let me say I've checked the archived threads on CPU temps and still haven't determined if the temps I'm running are too hot. BIOS has my CPU at 62C and Speedfan at 58C browsing. Idle is around the 52C mark on Speedfan. I don't play games and barley which a video. I haven't made any adjustments to the heatsink fan on Speedfan (cause I don't know how). I have removed the heatsink (screw into the MB type) and put on Arctic silver thermal paste (thin coat as instructed) and reattached as instructed - firmly. I did completely remove all old paste.

Here's the particulars on the computer:

Sony Vaio VGC-RB60G desktop
Intel Pentium D 920 processor
Socket 775 LGA
Heatsink: Foxconn 95w 4pin (the model on bottom of heatsink: PKP327GB1052)

A little background on this used computer. It was bought from my sister-in-law (my wife stuck with a cattle prod to get me to buy this one). The computer dies one week after we bought it - needs a new power supply (ouch).

The case fan had been fluctuating like mad. Up and down, up and down - driving me nuts. So I installed Speedfan to see what's going on. I cleaned the fan very well when the computer was apart, the case fan is better. This is where I stand. Is it too hot though? And the HD is at 50C. I'm paranoid about this computer.

Thanks for any help.
